Why daily?  Because our “gig” doesn’t only consist of the wedding day.  The relationship starts when an e-mail or phone call comes in for an inquiry.  The fact that a bride, groom, mother, sister, or friend even considers us to be a part of such a monumental day means the world to us.  From there, our lifelong relationship begins.  We love getting to know our brides and grooms through e-mail or over a cup of pineapple iced tea at The Wedding Cafe during consultations where we’ve heard  many unique proposal stories from how a groom tried to eloquently time a beach proposal with Waikiki fireworks only to have it rain and be one of the only nights the fireworks didn’t happen.  Or, how about the simplest proposal story we’ve heard about the groom who turned to his bride in the morning at home and asked, “You wanna get married?”  However simple or grand the event is, we are honored to be part of it.  We enjoy the challenge of making it all about the couple and their guests.  We often say, “It’s not about us.”  In an industry that rewards the wildest attention grabbers (Lady Gaga, Nicky Minaj…who we enjoy and celebrate as well), it’s refreshing to lend our voices and talents to propping up others.  We feel it’s our job to simply provide the soundtrack for the true stars of the day – the bride and groom.

The wedding day is often bittersweet for us.  It’s almost like we’re giving our couples away.  And we wonder, will we see them again?  Will they call us when they start their family and need music for their baby’s 1st birthday party?  Many times, the answer is yes.  Then comes the thank you card and incredibly generous words like, “You guys made our wedding day,” or “Our guests couldn’t stop asking who you were,” or “It was a true blessing to have you at our wedding knowing that you love doing what you do.”  Yes, we love doing what we do, but without the love, encouraging words, and relationships with our couples, it certainly wouldn’t be what it is.

Other performers included our good friends, Keali’i Reichel and Lehua Kalima of Na Leo Pilimehana.  It was an incredible evening of delectable food, a Disney lightshow, and fellowship.  Disney sure knows how to kick things off the right way!

We are thrilled to say that wasn’t our only performance at the Disney Aulani Resort.  We perform every Thursday night at the ‘Olelo Room from 5:30pm to 9pm.  Mickey, Minnie, and Stitch make their appearance right behind us at 5:30pm as well.  This venue is open to the public.  Parking is free as long as you eat or drink $35 worth (which isn’t hard to do…and the sweet potato fries or kiawe smoked poke?  Heaven!).

Not only do we get to perform for happy couples on the happiest days of their lives.  We also get to perform at the happiest place in Hawaii!  Come visit us sometime and be wowed by the Disney Aulani Resort.  Learn some Hawaiian while you’re there.  The cast members at the ‘Olelo Room speak fluent Hawaiian.  We’re being challenged to revisit and learn more Hawaiian music as well.  LOVE it!
